Preparedness of Afghan Refugees for Disasters

Introduction: Refugees encounter many obstacles en route to the United States. face very different disasters and response resources in US than their home countries. On arrival US, refugees receive a brief introduction disaster preparedness, but do not specific education based on country or final location of residence. This study aims determine preparedness levels Afghan Method: used modified General Disaster Preparedness Belief Scale (mGDPBS). The mGDPBS consists 20 45 questions from GDPBS, selected each six subscales most applicable refugee population. Ten families were community Virginia.Refugees interviewed by recorded one hour interview via Zoom. A list provided, translator was available ask respective language refugee: Dari Pashtu.
